I really like your stencils! =)
If you don't mind me asking..how long have you been doing them?
Thanks! I really like yours, too! :D I've been doing them since last November or so.
Thanks =) quick question though..
How do you get your stencils that big?
For the life of me i can't figure it out! haha.
You're welcome. :) I just found out how to do it a couple weeks ago, and my process is a bit convoluted, but it works. 1. I find the image that I want and save it. Sometimes I need to convert the file to another format, jpeg is best. This program works great and it's free: [link] 2. I go to www.blockposters.com and size the image into however many tiles I want. 3. I zoom out on the pdf and select each tile, copy and paste it into microsoft word and save it. 4. I repeat the process for each one, then open them individually in photoshop. (I only use photoshop because of the borderless printing feature, I'm sure that there are other programs that have it if you don't have photoshop.) 5. I go to image/image size and make it exactly 8.5x11 inches. I hit print, then go to print options and set it to borderless printing so that I maximize the image on the page. 6. Then I just print them off and cut them. I'm sure that there are easier ways to do it, but I just kinda figured it out after trial and error. Hope this helps and that you have fun! :)

No problem - I really like your stencils
If you don't mind me asking, how does one get started in this type of art? Any suggestions? I'd like to do something different.
I just started out doing designs on t-shirts and then moved into other media. My problem with art has always been proportions, so stencils are convenient because the correct proportions are already present. Using something like google image search, you can easily find some pre-fab designs to print and cut out. Just start with a simple image, something black on white. Since I don't have photoshop, I copy and paste them into a word document, blow them up to fit the page, and edit them if needed. I take a really sharp X-Acto kind of knife and cut out the black sections, then lay it down and fill it in with whatever medium I want to use. At first I cut my stencils on just ordinary printer paper, but as the designs get more intricate, it can be really fragile and they usually are only good for a few uses. I'd recommend using a heavier kind of cardstock, one that's sturdy but still flexible enough to print with. Overall, stencil art is really easy to pick up and is really fun to make, so I hope you have fun! :)
